Tutoring Services & Pricing

Finding the right support for a struggling reader can be overwhelming. Many families spend money on once-a-week tutoring that isn’t systematic, doesn’t follow proven methods, and leads to slow or limited progress.

At Spark Literacy, we do things differently. Our tutoring model is built on the Science of Reading and uses structured, evidence-based programs followed with fidelity. Instruction happens frequently and consistently, which research shows leads to the fastest growth. And because all tutors are trained and supervised by a certified dyslexia interventionist with 30+ years of experience, families can trust that every session is high-quality and effective.

The result? A smarter, more effective, and more affordable alternative to traditional tutoring—one designed to help struggling readers succeed.

How Our Services Work

-
Initial Assessment & Plan
We begin by evaluating each child's reading strengths and needs with assessments given by an expert reading specialist. This informs a customized instructional plan so each student is matched with a proven program to meet their needs.
-
Frequent, Focused Tutoring
Students meet virtually with a Spark Literacy tutor for 2–4 sessions per week (40-50 minutes each). Lessons are built on structured literacy programs aligned to the Science of Reading—not pieced-together activities—so every session is systematic and effective.
-
Ongoing Progress Monitoring
We track student growth closely. Families meet regularly with the reading specialist and tutor to review progress, adjust goals, and celebrate success.
-
Flexible Supports
-
Optional computer-based reading practice aligned to tutoring ($100/month) can add a session per week of supported, independent practice.
-
Parent/caregiver training on literacy development, assessment, and supporting learning at home
-
Subscriptions to libraries of decodable books to practice in-between sessions
